Players get their first taste of Homecoming

This past week’s football was Homecoming at Cerritos College and for all of the players on the team this was their first taste of a College Homecoming celebration.

Because of the fires last year and the two years of eligibility that community college athletes have no player of the team played in any previous Homecoming game.

The energy the team came out with was amazing from the opening kickoff the Falcons were flying around the field and making all the plays they needed to beat Citrus decisively.

Every player, from the third string punter to the first string quarterback, seemed to be giving that little extra to make the game exciting for the fans.

The Falcons must carry this momentum into their next game against Riverside, a team they lost to in overtime last season.

Riverside is 2-4 but head coach of Cerritos said that they are a better team than they have shown so far this year.

After the game against Riverside the Falcons will return home and play College of the Deserts and then will play Mt. SAC in the final home game of the season.

This might be the game that will determine whether or not that they will break their playoff drought and help return the team to its previous glory.
